Spotted Saddle Horses - Regular Registry
Spotted Saddle Horses of the required color and also meeting all the rest of the other requirements may be registered as a National Spotted Saddle Horse. At present, the National Spotted Saddle Horse Association has a registration special in progress. To become a member of the association you need to pay every year. Every Horse that is spotted and gaited can be registered for only and is not dependent on its age and parentage. Having paid the annual membership fee, each member receives one free registration on a Spotted Saddle Horse of the Year for which the membership is paid.
Spotted Saddle Horses - Associations
Crossing of Spanish American type pinto spotted ponies or Iceland spotted ponies with local, gaited breeds in order to produce a colorful, smooth gaited horse that is known nowadays as Spotted Saddle Horse developed the breed of Spotted Saddle Horses. Spotted Saddle Horses are naturally gaited and possess strength and stamina.
There are several breed registers of Spotted Saddle Horses. Among them are: The Spotted Saddle Horse Breeders And Exhibitors Association (that is known as SSHBEA). This organization was created in 1985 to promote the Spotted Saddle Horse. To do so, SSHBEA has founded a program for affiliating Horse shows, for licensing Judges, and for approving Designated Qualified Persons. And it has established official rules for registering and showing of the Spotted Saddle Horse.
Another association is called the National Spotted Saddle Horse Association that was formed in 1979 and, in short, is called NSSHA. The main aim of the association is to establish a standardized breed of Saddle Horse that is naturally gaited and performs without the use of punishing training aids or substances. One more association is called the American Spotted Horse Association. It was founded in 1999. Its registry is based on promoting the sound, gaited western style of Spotted Saddle Horses.
